A night at the opera.

OK, I now have experienced the opera in the flesh. I went to see Aida at the Met on Friday night. What an experience it was for me. I loved it, with the exception of the fact that I was exhausted and I am to damned fat to be sitting in those chairs that are too narrow.

It was thrilling to hear a professional orchestra live and in a great sounding hall. I have not heard that kind of tonality in a long time. It was refreshing. The singing was great too, and I have a passion for atmospheric choral music, and it was terrific hearing the live choruses that are part of Aida. My heart was overjoyed hearing sounds like that. It was a joy of being alive. I will have to do this again soon. It is just a thrill that I need. I think hearing the live orchestra was the most satisfying part of the experience, so maybe it's time for me to go see the symphony.

Everything is going to get better.

Today the sun is brilliant. I have the screen on instead of hard glass and I can smell the sweet air.

I can go fishing soon.

Everything is going to be ok, chin up.

Spring is coming. My grass is green.

Technological advances are the shit!

So here I am typing a post on my blackberry and attemting to have it show up on blogger. It's jsut me experimenting. All of a sudden, this hits me that it is so cool. I am utterly astounded that I can do this and then if they so choose, the whole world can see what I have done. And I did it off my little handheld device. And I can do it from anywhere in the world (that they have superbehemoth wireless phone carriers service).
I have been around for a while. We were high tech when we ran around in high school with our colleco pocket football and used MXR Phase 90s on our guitars. Wow, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore Toto.

And it is so common place and accessable, and taken for granted.

Yes, technology is amazing.

I'm Alive

I know that no one is reading, no one misses me, nor do I have a need to be missed. This was just an attempt to understand what blogging is, and I am too modest to believe that any one would want to read my writings or rantings.

It has been over a year since I last posted anything, so I guess that it is safe to say that I am not an avid blogger. For an update, here it goes. 2009 has come and gone. I won't backtrack on that. Maybe in the future, but not now. I am getting married, and she is great and wonderful and patient. That is going to happen this year. I am still continuing with school and have gotten to the meat and potatoes of what I want to study, computer science. I am becoming quite a hand at c++, I am also interested in digging up my old html skills and start pursuing self taught web application development. I hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree, but I have began reading an O'Reilly tome on AJAX, and hope that this book will put me on the correct path, or at least point me to the right places to get the information I need to do that.

That is my very basic quick and dirty update. I hope to post more frequently, if for nothing else, this way I can keep tabs on myself.
